The quantities in this recipe will make approximately 50 grams of lip balm ( makes sufficient amount for 5 people )

- 8 gm beeswax [SHOP ONLINE]
- 3 gm cocoa butter [SHOP ONLINE]
- 3 gm honey
- 30 ml jojoba oil [SHOP ONLINE]
- 2 ml carrot infused oil [SHOP ONLINE]
- 3 ml calendula infused oil [SHOP ONLINE]
- 8 drops of essential oil of choice. [SHOP ONLINE]
- A few drops of Vitamin E Oil [SHOP ONLINE]
Method:
- Heat a saucepan of water on stove.
- Melt beeswax and cocoa butter together in glass beaker or bowl in the saucepan of water.
- Remove glass beaker or bowl from hot water.
- Slowly pour in vegetable oil and infused oil until well blended. Return to heat if mix starts to set before all oils have been added.
- Remove from heat and add honey.
- Once the mixture starts to cool, add the essential oils and stir thoroughly.
- Pour into lip balm jars, cap when cool and label them.

- For a vegan friendly version - take out the honey and replace the bees wax with soy, carnauba, or candelilla wax like I did. [SHOP ONLINE]
- Add 1 teaspoon of cocoa or cacao powder and use peppermint essential oil for a choc-mint lip balm!
- You could use coconut, olive, almond or grapeseed oil to replace other oils.
- You can also use shea butter instead of cocoa butter.
- Add coloured jojoba beads or dried herbs and flowers for something different.
