Clay masks are soothing and healing to skin. They are brimming with nutrients and minerals and are ideal for the spa experience. Historically clay has been employed to promote health and wellbeing, its properties touted to detoxify, heal and rejuvenate.
Clay Mask Recipe:
Add water if you have oily skin, jojoba oil if you have dry skin or milk for combo skin to create a workable mask.
Different essential oils are also of great benefit for different skin types. Sandalwood is great for aged skin, myrrh is good for dry skin, tea tree can be used on acne prone or oily skin and ylang ylang is good for combination skin. This is just to name a few!
Ingredients:
- Powdered clay ( Ivory is good for sensitive skin, Olive Green is good for oily and acne skin and French yellow is good for combination skin)

- water (oily skin), or milk for half and half (combination skin)
or jojoba oil (dry skin) - A few drops of essential oil (select based on skin type)

Preparation:
- Mix approximately 2 parts liquid to 1 part clay. (or refer to clay blending ratios on clay product descriptions)
- Choose your liquid based on your skin type.
- Mix in a bit of honey.
- Add more liquid if clay is too dry.
- Add a few drops of the essential oil.
- Keep mask on for 15 minutes.
- Rinse off with a steaming face washer (make sure washcloth is not too hot).
